...for the Military

UK Gear’s training shoes were originally designed in association with the Royal Army Physical Training Corps (RAPTC). These elite fitness professionals were closely involved in the development and tested our products in some of the most inhospitable conditions on Earth. Only when approved by the Military do we consider our products... Built to survive.

Tried and Tested

Army running shoe? Well, sort of. When so many trainers are fashion items, sold for their labels and their price tag and likely to do nothing more athletic than running for last orders, UK Gear, a tiny sportswear firm compared to the likes of Nike, has gone fiercely functional.

It developed its running shoe in association with the British Army. They are the first ever commercial product to be produced in association with the Army. The shoes might not have fancy colours and flashing lights, but they do have the Army's crossed swords logo.

The shoes aren't Army issue, but fitness instructors from the Army Physical Training Corps, some of the fittest people on the planet, advised on the design of the PT-03 and tested the shoes over six months and are apparently generous in their praise. But what about us ordinary mortals?

Are the PT-03 really any different? Maybe. They look pretty unassuming, which is no bad thing. They are also very comfortable, cushioned and with good support. And great grip. We tested them in snow, slush and mud and felt wonderfully secure in these. They also seem built to last.

Not glamorous, but they do the job. The Army knows its stuff.
