UK Gear to launch army running shoe

A high performance running shoe which has been developed with the help of the British Army, is to be available to the public from next month.

The shoe, named the PT-03 and produced by sportswear company UK Gear, is the first commercial product ever to be produced in association with the Army and to bear the Army's famous crossed swords logo.

As well as advising on the design of the shoe, Army fitness instructors from the Army Physical Training Corps (APTC) tested the shoe over a six-month period. The entire project from concept, through design, testing and manufacture has taken UK Gear eighteen months to complete and has resulted in an official association with the Army - said to be the first of its kind.

"The PT-03 is a high performance running shoe that has been designed and manufactured to very high standards and to meet the demands of some of the toughest runners," said David Hinde, Managing Director of UK Gear.
