...for the Military

UK Gear’s training shoes were originally designed in association with the Royal Army Physical Training Corps (RAPTC). These elite fitness professionals were closely involved in the development and tested our products in some of the most inhospitable conditions on Earth. Only when approved by the Military do we consider our products... Built to survive.

Getting fit is as much a mental exercises as a physical one.

You need to make the decisions for the right reasons and then apply yourself to whatever programme you have devised.

Running is more than just pounding the streets. It is vital that you prepare well, draw up a schedule and stick to it.

Equally important is using the correct gear. There is no point digging out the pair of trainers you used to use for footy years ago and which have been languishing at the bottom of the wardrobe for a decade.

You will do more harm than good, and the fitness regime will be over before it's properly started.

One of the best running shoes on the market has the best possible credentials - it is endorsed by the British Army's PT instructors.

In 2003, David Hinde, managing director of UK Gear, launched a project to design and manufacture a new high-performance running shoe that could compete with the best running shoes in the world. And he realised that by teaming up with the Army Physical Training Corps he could ensure that the best result could be achieved. The design team met with the Army Physical Training Corps to develop the brief for the shoe and the rest, as they say, is history.

The shoes were given to 10 APTC instructors. The team were asked to use the shoe in all their outdoor training activities, test it and report back their results and comments. Modified versions of the shoe were created on the basis of the feedback from the PT instructors and reissued to a further 30 APTC instructors to test once more.

The shoes have been distributed to all APTC instructors around the world. In addition, orders for the PT-03 have already been placed by some of the UK's top specialist running stores and major sports shoe retailers including Sweatshop and The Althletes Foot. But if you think this is all too much for you don't panic. Your feet deserve as much respect, protection and help as anyone else's.

They are amazingly comfortable, cushioned yet functional, and you can feel the cooling breeze as you run. Your feet feel freer as the air circulates and are always supported.

Get yourself a pair. It could be part of a life-changing experience if you put them to good use.
