Paddy Doyle, Worlds Fittest Athlete
The Guinness Book of World Records have listed Paddy Doyle as the World Fitness Endurance Champion for his overall multi strength speed stamina records.
His records are some of the most challenging and tough feats of endurance which Doyle had to win to become a Multi World Record Holder.

Former Paratrooper, ex-amateur boxer and UK Gear fanatic Paddy Doyle has set and broken a career total of 226 Course, Regional, National, British, European and World strength speed stamina records and fitness endurance records, of which126 stand as World Records. He is also the only British athlete to have 54 entrys in the 1990 - 2011 Guinness Book of World Records and 84 entrys in the Alternative Book of Records.
His main aim in life was to achieve the most sports specific fitness endurance records, under several different sporting disciplines ever held by one man. He is mentioned in the 2009 Guinness Book of Records as the World Fitness Endurance Champion.
His official World Records are recognised by the following World Record authority's:
- World Record Federation "USA".

World Record Update!
8th January 2012
Venue - Stamina's Self Defence Boxing Gym, Erdington Birmingham, England.
Three more Guinness Strength Endurance Records were broken once again at Stamina's Gym. Paddy Doyle beat the current Guinness World Record for most back of hands push-ups in 1 minute carrying 80 lb back pack, his final total was 37, surpassing the previous best by one. He then went onto break the record for the most back of hands push-ups in 1 minute carrying 100 lb back pack finishing on 33 push-ups, which was previousley 30 push-ups.
Due to Guinness World Records updating the press-ups rules and regulations, which has made them harder to achieve. Doyle had to re-attempt the 1 arm push ups record (using right arm only) carrying 100 lb back pack. The new rules now stipulate that the legs must be as straight as possible, no over bending of the knees. He achieved 12 in 1 minute with 1 deduction by the official, final total being 11 - narrowly beating the Guinness Records minimum target which was 10 one arm push ups.
Paddy currently holds 149 strength speed stamina endurance records under several different sporting categories and has achieved a career total of 250 records and title challenges.
A new World Record for Paddy Doyle
August 2011
Ex-Paratrooper, Paddy Doyle the World Fitness Endurance Champion and UK Gear Ambassador has officially beaten previous title holder, Paul Woodlands' World Record Title for the most Fitness Endurance Records set and broken in a calender year!
The World Record finale took place on July 31st 2011 in Solihull and finished at the BBC Radio & TV Studios in Birmingham, UK whereby Doyle completed the final two strength speed stamina record challenges wearing UK Gear PT-1000's:
Challenge 1:
27 mile cross country speed march carrying 60 lb back pack, along the Grand Union Canal finishing off at the BBC Studios Birmingham City Centre.
Time completed: 7 hrs 19 min
The route consisted of speed marching over footpaths, fields, bridges and stiles.
Doyle said "The last 7 miles were becoming a struggle due to the heat, however my 15 team members verbally pushed me to the finish line".

Challenge 2:
10 back of hands push ups carrying 60 lb back pack
Time Completed: 15.03 sec's.
This brought Paddy's yearly total of strength speed stamina records to 48 documented feats, smashing Paul Woodlands World Record Title by 19.
“The support was great throughout the final attempt to win the World Record . There were plenty of supporters near the finish point BBC Radio & TV Centre B'ham UK, however I had to stay focused and get ready to attempt the back of hands push ups carrying the 60 lb back pack.”
“Attempting this title has tested my mental strength over the last 12 months, carrying injuries from one challenge to another has not helped either, but all the hard work has paid off” triumphed Doyle.

Before taking a short break, Paddy spoke to UK Gear about training and setting new World Records, becoming a father for the first time and supporting his local football teams:
Name: Paddy Doyle
From: Balsall Common, Solihull. West Midlands
Age: 46
How are you feeling after Sunday's victory, Paddy? It was a great feeling to reach the 12th month mark and surpass the previous World Record Title by 19 strength speed stamina records. My hat goes off to Paul Woodland the previous record holder who set the challenge record.
What has been your toughest challenge to date? I would say all of the strength speed stamina records have been tough, however the 27 mile and 30 mile cross country speed marches have pushed me, especially as you have to be self supportive going over moody tracks / footpaths, fields and bridges.
What drives you to accomplish more World Records? Wanting to be beat other official World Records Holders and enjoying the challenge and training with my training team. Having the backing from family and friends pushes me to go on, along with the support from local sponsors and having the right training gear, such as the performance shoes given to me by UK Gear.
What training regimes do you undertake before a challenge? My background is boxing and mixed martial arts fighting, this is an important part of my training. Full contact Sparring keeps me on my toes, you get to use to the punches and elbows, plus it strengthens the mind. I also do a lot of mountain walking / scrambling in North Wales or sometimes Scotland carrying a full back pack. I use light weights only and a medicine ball combined with a British Military Circuit workout.
When do you hope to release your second book 'Pure Grit 2'? Due to the intensity of the last 12 months and the commitment involved in beating this record title, I hope to launch "Pure Grit 2" in 2012.
When you are not training for a World Record title, what do you do? And how do you un-wind? I love kayaking, mountain walking and outdoor survival skills courses; its great to escape to the wilds and relax with your friends.
Do you have any hobbies? Anything to do with the outdoor environment.
Any heroes? Sporting or Non-Sporting? I have never really had some one who inspired me. However I respect all athletes who give it 100 % whether they come first or last, as long as they give it their best. Fair play to them.
What does the rest of 2011 hold for you? Any plans yet for 2012? I would like to attempt more official Guinness World Records, for example the most one arm push ups and back of hands push ups carrying 60lb,80lb and 100 lb back packs.
If you could make one change, what would it be? I would have tried harder at school, kept out of trouble and avoided mixing with the wrong firm. But I turned my life around and I hope I am now an inspiration to others.
Are you enjoying fatherhood? Best thing to ever happen to me, it has softened me a lot having a baby daughter. But I only show my soft side when I close my front door .
What football team do you support? Coventry City & Aston Villa.
